Orchid Grove Reaches Out to Local Kindergartners

POMPANO BEACH, FL—January 28, 2007—140 kindergarten children from Cypress Elementary learned about safety on a construction site when they visited Orchid Grove, a 32-acre town home community that is being developed by Coscan across from the school. David Wessin, the Director of Safety at Coscan, spoke about things that are done to keep construction workers safe while they are on the job. He showed the different pieces of clothing and equipment mandatory for construction workers and explained why they are important. Art projects were handed out for the children to color and refreshments were served. All the children received cards making them members of the Coscan Safety Club, with a promise that as a member they would never play on a construction site.

There has been an on going partnership between Coscan and Cypress Elementary School since the ground breaking of the community, when children from the school entertained the guests who attended. The purpose of the many events held is to teach the children how a community develops. They first saw Orchid Grove when it was nothing but a pile of sand and watched it develop into a community filled with buildings, roads, a lake, a perimeter jogging path, a children’s park, a central club house with pool—and more.

Orchid Grove will have 385 three-story town homes and 96 two-story condominium units. Four products -- Leisure Homes, City Homes, Lake Homes and Park Homes are available. They range from 1,076 to 2,669 square feet under air and prices will range from the mid-$200,000’s for the Leisure Homes, to the $500,000’s for the town homes.
